The Securities Industry Management Association has been around in many guises over the past 40 years or so and was originally known as The London Stock Exchange Management Association. As personal membership of The London Stock Exchange ended, SIMA was established to provide a platform where individuals could discuss areas of mutual and topical interest and hear from industry experts. During the past few years, SIMA membership has increased substantially due mainly to the high quality and status of presenters, the support provided from many leading City institutions and the very low cost of membership (from just £50 pa).
SIMA is a 'not for profit' company and at the AGM each year, members determine a charity for any surplus funds. All SIMA directors give their time voluntarily and Ensors the Chartered Accountants, provide full support for the annual audit and accounts. SIMA meetings are usually held at 5:30pm and take the form of a presentation, followed by a drinks reception. This format has become very popular and membership is now available to anyone working in the financial services industry.
